Preston LeRoy

Baby Preston is here and we couldn't be happier! 3/38/16.. 9:05 pm.. 19.5 inches.. 8.1 lbs
Look no farther if you aren't ready to waste a couple hours of your life on my pregnancy/labor/and birth... I'm going to over post big time :).

Pic a couple days before I had you little man...

The day before (happened to be Easter) aren't those boys just handsome as can be??

Here goes... My midwife and I had a perfect plan since I wanted a natural birth this go round.  UNTIL my strep B test came back positive.  That through a curve ball that I should have been prepared for since I am always positive.  She said I could still labor at home until about 6 cm dilated and then we would head to the hospital unless my water broke in which case i'd have to go in immediately.

The week before I had him I thought i was going into labor TWICE because of contractions ALL NIGHT LONG.  I was also dilated to a 4 and almost all the way effaced. 38 weeks on was brutal this go round.  I was so tired.... Mom came the Thursday before Easter which was SOOOO nice because i was exhausted! It also meant i had the help i needed here for when i actually did go into labor.

Just my luck...Monday morning at about 8am (39 weeks exactly) I woke up, rolled over, baby did a ninja move and I felt a little gush.  I was 99 % sure my water broke, although, peeing wouldn't have been too far of a stretch either.  I got up and took a shower,  called Ty at work and told him I'd call him back once i was 100% sure, text Nicole my midwife/friend/neighbor, text Britney my duola/friend and got ready.  I was so pumped to look half decent in pictures when my baby arrived for once :).  Nicole told me to go in as soon as possible...

I waited for Ty to get out of a meeting and we headed to the hospital at about 10:30 am. When i got there i was a 5 and still not in labor.  Nicole gave me until 2 pm to get going on my own or else she'd have to give me pitocin since my water broke and there's a bit of a time crunch with Strep B.  Ty, Brit and I walked and walked and walked down the same hall and ate lunch at the cafeteria. By 2 i was having contractions but not in any pain but it was good enough for her! We went back to the hall and walked and walked some more... we actually had a lot of fun just hanging out there all day :). Ty and Brit were amazing at helping me with painful contractions, making me drink water, giving me chap stick, and making me laugh.  I told Nicole I'd text her as soon as i wanted her to come to the hospital... at about 4 my contractions were getting kinda painful but nothing to bad.  By six things were really picking up and Ty secretly text her and told her to be at the hospital at about 7.  At 7 I was ready to go to my room because it was pretty intense.  As soon as we got in my room and i climbed on the bed I told Ty to get Nicole to the hospital... as soon as those words came out of my mouth IN WALKED NICOLE! It was pretty awesome :). Glad the hubs was paying attention to my pain level and knew it was almost go time.  She suggested i sit on the ball in the shower... and for the next 2 hours ty held hot water on my stomach and nicole massaged my back.  Tys feet were prunes by the time we were done (he still had his socks and shoes on).  I started to get the shakes and freak out for prob a minute and then soon after I felt like i couldn't move because the contractions were so painful... i thought i might be stuck on that ball forever.  Nicole and Brit suggested i get up because they knew it was time for me to push... i did my best to get myself to the bed!  Once i got there I wanted to be checked so bad to know if i needed to push.  Nicole is one that believes in trusting your body and doesn't check but she almost checked me once! I said something frustrating i think... oopsies and she threw her gloves away haha.  I was like falling off the bed and couldn't move over when i decided to start pushing. At this time i was pretty positive i was either going to pass out or just die.  No way was i going to survive this... I could feel him stuck!  After what seemed like forever he did a little gig and 2 more pushes and he was out at 9:05 pm!!! OUCH!!!!! Ring of fire is a nice way to put it. I really only pushed for about 10 minutes but it seemed like at least a half an hour to me.  I got the shakes again after I had him and then a crazy adrenaline rush and I didn't sleep at all that night!

I am so happy that I was able to do it!  It has been something that I have thought about for a long time and really wanted. Our bodies really are amazing and the sweet little babies that come from all that pain are totally worth it!

soccer...spring 2016

Another soccer season has come and gone... so fun watching these boys.  They are quite good at soccer! Bridge scored close to 10 goals every game and was always getting in trouble at practice for not passing when they would scrimmage (who passes at age 4??? no one...absolutelty no one.).  Parx scored a few goals every game too.. at this age they do pass a little!  They were both little stud muffins out there!

Carbon Monoxide adventure...

We had a fun little adventure a couple weekends ago!
Ty was cutting the concrete for our basement window with a gas powered saw for so long that all the carbon monoxide alarms starting going off like crazy and our house reaked of gas! Not to mention i could hardly see from one end of the house to the other becuase of all the crazy dust and dirt flying everywhere...IT WAS A MESS!!!!

Sooo off to the hotel we went... we spent one night there and swam at night and swam again in the morning.  The kids were in heaven and we had a blast. It was a fun little stay-cation.  They ask to go back to the hotel all the time now...

Fever Seizure

First scary ER trip for this family.  My poor Max had a seizure a couple weeks ago because his fever sky rocketed so fast.  It was the worst day ever to have a sickly baby as I was in charge of keeping my friend out of her house so her kids could decorate for her surprise party that evening.

That afternoon I put Max down for a nap and he was totally healthy... when he woke up he had a fever of 104.2. I had to pick up Brit in 45 minutes so I gave him some meds and took him with me to dinner with Brit and Kim. (Ty was working the entire day on a big project).  At dinner he started acting normal and having a little fun...sitting on the floor reading a book and running around our table. The meds kicked in and all was gooooooood.

We took Brit to her party and he just sat on my lap on the couch.  He started doing some weird twitches and would shake a little when I was holding him but he'd just stop and then be ok for awhile again.  Then Ty got there around 9 pm and grabbed him up to say hello and see how he was doing!  Next thing I knew Ty had a super funny look on his face (I hadn't even had time to tell Ty about the weird stuff he was doing) so i ran over and grabbed him becuase i thought he was going to throw up and his lips were turning blue.  We ran to the bathroom and he stood there with his eyes rolling back in his head and then he just passed out. It had been 4 hours since his meds and his fever was back up to 104.2.  We raced to the hospital and we couldn't get him to wake up for 30 minutes! He was so out of it.

The good news is that my sweet baby is just fine and i'm soooo grateful it all happened right when Ty walked in the door! I definately needed him at that moment...it was pretty scary. I think we both held it together quite well though :). With an exception to Ty's psycho driving... I was afraid for our lives.

I got so many snuggles for 3 days and even had a sleepover with him the night of the seizure.
I was ready to see him happy and healthy again!

awwwwww these kids of mine are such a blessing!!!

Max is 2!

Our little one turned 2... He had a great birthday full of well... not that much :).  Big parties don't happen over here until they actually care...so dinner/cake/ice cream, balloons and presents it was! He loved it! All the attention was on him and he enjoyed ripping open his presents and loved everything he found underneath that wrapping paper.  He's just so dang cute.

This kid is all boy...ALLLLL boy. He loves being outside, loves shooting hoops, playing catch, going fishing, taking Bear for walks, playing with "guys" and "animals," making us fake food, having races, throwing rocks. The list could go on for days... he's a busy little fart.
He is so much more friendly now but still thinks people can't see him if he turns his head and doesn't look at them.
His finger is always up his nose when people look at him..it's an awesome nervous habit.
He says what seems like a million words. My favorite phrase being, "Thank you mama," which he says after I hand him anything. And he just started to say, "I love you mama." Melts my heart.
He also loves to tell on Bridger for hitting (even if Bridger is no where near him). He says in a very loud voice, "HE HIT BRIDGER."
He is so helpful and is always cleaning up everyones wrappers or anything he finds that needs to go in the trash...he is quick to clean up the toys when its time for bed...and tattles on the other kiddos if they get up from eating or don't clear their plates. The older boys just love that.
Max has also hit a phase where he wants to be totally independent.  No more booster chair for meals, likes to drink out of the big boy cups, he tries to spit when we brush his teeth...he's growing up so fast and would love to be able to keep up with his brothers.
That being said...HE LOVES HIS BROTHERS... I should say HE LOVES HIS FAMILY.  He LIGHTS UP when anyone comes home....and he must have a hug and kiss if anyone leaves.  It's the cutest thing in the world when Ty comes home from work...his little legs are going a mile a minute with excitement and he runs so fast to get him as soon as the door opens.
WE LOVE THIS BOY... We can't get enough of his craziness.

STATS:
Height: 35.25 inches 79%
Weight: 28.14 lbs 61%

Daddy left him a cute birthday note when he went to work...

Dad and mom snuck into the cake a little early...whoops. Max doesn't really like cake anyway :). He's all about the ice cream.

Trying to get him to put 2 fingers up... no luck!

Some random pics of Max around his 2nd birthday...
