Tooth Fairy Visit #1

This boy is one tough cookie.  He has been asking us to RIP his tooth out for weeks.. he wanted us to just yank that sucker out even when it was barely wiggling.  He would let us wiggle it till it was bleeding all over. I wanted to rip it out too and then it fell out when Ty was brushing his teeth last week.. bummer.  HE LOVES MONEY... LOOOOVVVEEESSS MONEY!!!! And lucky him, the tooth fairy brought him 1 dollar :). He's cute as can be without that tooffer.

Jogathon and Pumpkin Patch Fieldtrip

School is so much fun! Seriously. So. Much. Freakin. Fun. First off, who knew Parx was such a runner? It's usually 50/50 on walks if he's complaining at the first corner because his legs hurt and he wants to either go home or get in the stroller.  He's been running half a mile to a mile everyday at school this year in preps for the jogathon and just to get energy out of the all day kinders :).

The annual jogathon... the whole school ran/walked/jogged (whatever they wanted) for one hour. It was timed, there was fun music, a clown, the tiger mascot running around and gatorades for all the kids at the end. It's the biggest fund raiser all year for his school.. this year they raised over $13,000.  Parx got some money from his grandparents and us and was put into a drawing and won a prize.  In the next couple weeks he gets to have a pizza party with the principal and other kids at the bowling alley--the kid is stoked. He kept telling me prior to the big day that he had to eat healthy and exercise so he could do good at the jogathon.... I mean he REALLY was excited about this! The night before the big day Parx came home from school and didn't feel great. At 7pm I was running him into the walk-in clinic because he couldn't move his neck. At 8 he was diagnosed with strep... broke this mamas heart when he tried to hold back the tears thinking he couldn't go to school the next day...and he DID stay home from school but the doc gave him permission to go to the jogathon in the afternoon if he was feeling up to it. HE WAS, of course!! Anyway... prob too much info about a school activity but I am so dang proud of the kid.  He ran 20 laps... 5 miles!!!! He just kept going and going and going and it was awesome to be there and watch him go.

I'll keep this one short :) The pumpkin patch... first fieldtrip as a kindergartener.

Max surgery...8 months

Max's hypospadias and circumcision surgery went really well. I stressed and stressed and stressed and stressed for about 2 weeks before his surgery. I felt like my baby was just too itty bitty to leave my arms and go under. I'm attached to this little bugger. There were so many tender mercies from Heaven sent my way- I cant stress enough the blessings that helped ease my emotional mind.
Here are a few..

1.) I set 2 alarms.. one for 3:20 am and one for 6:50 am. Did you know Max is my worst sleeper at this age? Not in the hotel the night before surgery! I woke him up at 3:20 to feed him (that was the last time he could eat) and I had to wake him up at 7:15 to leave the hotel. I was super nervous he would wake up and need to eat to go back to sleep but NOPE!

2.) He didn't eat for 6.5 hours because the hospital was running behind. Did he cry? Not once! He's never gone over 3 hours.

3.) He went right to the stranger nurses and not only went to them but LOVED them.

4.) He drank an entire bottle of apple juice when he came out of surgery. Max wont take a bottle... maybe it was the first taste of apple juice in his little life or maybe a miracle? I dunno, but I've tried giving him the same bottle and he has no interest once again. It's me and him... I'm his own personal milk cow. Lucky me :)! okay actually I love it.

Even with the mighty miracles I cried. I couldn't help it... I wanted to hold and protect my baby from this forever and it wasn't even a big surgery!!!!! He was under for about 2.5 hours... seemed like an eternity. Came home with loads of medicine...3 pain meds... 1 antibiotic... 1 spasm medicine that he never took... and an ointment. shheeeeesh. I had a log going for 2 days so I could remember it all. Oh and loads of stiches.

before surgery pics..

After surgery...My poor sweet baby...breaks mama's heart

but he's a champ and bounced back VERY quickly... this is the next day (he is hopped up on drugs).  Btw he didn't drink that bottle but I tried.
